We'll also walk through the online giving platform and spotlight what's new for the 2026 campaign, including AFH's first-ever Giving Tuesday launch.

This year's Avenues for Hope kicks off on Giving Tuesday for the first time, giving participating nonprofits a built-in launch pad to start strong. It also means this year’s campaign may feel like more of a marathon than a sprint. This session focuses on the foundation: the mindset shifts your team needs to build your best campaign yet, like moving from just asking for money to inviting people to partner in your life-changing work. Led by a Certified Fundraising Executive and a psychology researcher, this session pairs the science of what holds nonprofi t leaders back with strategies you can put to use immediately.

Working Smarter Not Harder: Cultivating Major Gifts for Major Impact

Storytelling for Good: How to Tell Your Story During AFH

Stories are how we communicate our missions and move people to support our
work. Led by Amethyst of People First Communications, followed by
an optional social media bootcamp with Lynette at Idaho Housing, this virtual training dives into what stories are and why they
matter so much for year-end fundraising, showcasing real examples of stories that
have driven fundraising success. Participants will learn people-first storytelling
practices, how to equip their messengers, and how to collect and share the right
story at the right time to inspire people to give. We’ll also share social media
templates, content calendars, and practical tips for how to weave your storytelling
techniques across your different communication channels.

Finishing Strong: It's Not Over 'Til the Potato Drops

This mid-campaign check-in reenergizes teams with practical, tested strategies to finish strong: personal outreach to major donors, mapping out final mass communications, and reconnecting with past supporters who haven't given yet.
