Western Idaho Community Action Partnership, Inc. - WICAP
Western Idaho Community Action Partnership (WICAP) is a not-for-profit business that uses resources in communities to build communities through workforce and economic development. WICAP uses local, community-based vendors; universities, churches; government agencies; and community groups to strengthen people in poverty. Our participants learn that through hard work, and help, they can overcome barriers to being successful in achieving economic stability. The first barriers to success in workforce building are the simplest; such as housing and food: the basics. WICAP does not focus on addressing the basic needs of communities, but rather the individual, and uses our resources to address those barriers- for those who qualify. While teaching and developing families and individuals through local centers and sites using local, state and federal funding, and with the support of the community leadership of the seven counties we serve in Western Idaho, our team works with all partners in the community. From pre-natal nutrition guidance for mothers of babies waiting to be born, to youth, education, job-skills training, micro-enterprise and economic development programs and on through to knowing the dignity of seniors staying longer in their homes because our senior services staff keep them safe and tidy, leaving them more gently to transition to the next chapter, Western Idaho Community Action Partnership is proud to have served western Idaho for nearly fifty years. Until, in faith, our services are no longer needed. But the need is still greater than the gifts that have been shared, and some who don’t qualify, just barely don’t qualify. We would like to help those friends and neighbors stay on the track towards stability, too. So, with a little help from you, we can help a lot. Thank you.
