Avenues for Hope : 2011 Housing Challenge

“Spread the message of God’s mercy and love to those in need through prayer, word and deed.” The Jesse Tree of Idaho is dedicated to preventing homelessness through the Emergency Rent and Mercy Assistance (ERMA) program. Homeless Prevention services provide a “safety net” for those families who have an established rental history and an income to continue to pay rent but have had a short term financial setback, such as job loss, illness, increased utility costs, or car repairs, and are in need of short term temporary assistance to prevent the possibility of becoming homeless. We provide temporary rent assistance to qualified applicants for one month along with case management as well as appropriate referral services. The Jesse Tree provides rent assistance and facilitates collaboration with other social service agencies to meet individual client’s needs.
