Avenues for Hope : 2011 Housing Challenge

The mission of Corpus Christi House is to provide hospitality and services to those in need in the city of Boise. Corpus Christi House is a day shelter located in downtown Boise. In addition to providing meals and clothing, a place to use the restroom, shower, and do laundry, we house the STEP UP Education Center. This Center is dedicated to helping anyone further their education in the hopes of helping that person become self-sufficient. Most of our students are preparing for the GED. We also act as a bridge between the homeless community and the available resources. We help them connect to housing and job services by passing out cards and flyers from those organizations and by providing support services such as use of a telephone, fax machine, computers, mailing address, ID card assistance etc. that help them use those resources as effectively as possible.
